IGNIS SACER

Here are some very nice, high quality photos of my work in progress. It's an inked collage of Bosch and Durer source imagery, Current 93 lyrics, No Comment imagery and band logos used to form the words "Ignis Sacer", holy fire. Dori Lynde took the photos. I don't have her site on hand at the moment...

It's about halfway done, stippling is slow, but drawing tiny Bosch monsters is also slow.

Lack of interest

I've been hermetically busy on an ink drawing. It's about a month in, but I'm obviously neglecting to make any worthwhile blog updates.

The comic is long done, but uncollated.

Photos to follow, the camera I borrow has a bad auto focus setting on.

Also, I'm trying to rap. EP coming out soon.

Developments

So, everyone has probably heard enough of this star wars comic I've started on.

IT IS NOT ALL TALK

I have page one almost inked. One issue a month, 12 pages, or so, with maybe a gag page too.

Here are scans of the main cast, as well as the two droids, 4-LOM and IG88, in their Wu-Tang alter egos, 4-Kwon and IGZA.

I'm serious.

New works

A few shots of a wheatpaste and four toys/sculptures I'm painting on, to be put into a small show in the near future.

The work makes use of runes, alchemical symbols, numerology and acrostics, as well as imagery from the Bosch and Durer catalogs. I'm trying to draw parallels between punk imagery and medieval art, their use use black and white, woodcut and themes of war, elitism, government/church and state, and the way that information is hidden in both of these contrasting languages.

Black ink, black paint.

Mass Hypnosis Vid

Philippe has edited together a video of the installed art, with lights, from the Mass Hypnosis show.

Check it out, it's pretty rad, and if you missed the show, it's as close as you can get to having been there or seeing what this kind of art looks like under that lighting system.

PULSE DEMON

Here's a terribly low-res photo of the wallpaper I will be installing...one sheet doesn't really do it justice. There will be a column of this image, oscillating in two different directions simultaneously.

Also, I will play some drone, minimal techno and some pitch shifted east coast and southern rap.
